BBG

Brooklyn Botanic Garden, that is. Couldn't decide
what to put here tonight, so went first to Eric's PDP
post for inspiration—and found it. I'm lucky enough
to have this gorgeous place right around the corner.
This shot was taken about 2 months ago, when their
famous cherry blossoms were at their absolute
bright pink flowering peak!

  1. ああそうCherry Blossonsでしょう。It's a little late but I think I've got some sake around here somewhere. 一緒に飲みませんか。

Can't see cherry trees in blossom without thinking of Japan. But, you know, the colors of yours are deeper than most I see in Japan.

  2. You are lucky to have this in your own backyard. Love your vantage point, too. When I think of Brooklyn now, I'll think cherry blossoms in bloom and not just BASEBALL...okay, I'll think them both. What a magical place to just relax and take in the day!

BTW...other photo: I didn't mention that your brother looked good backing Tex with his "Gretsch" guitar. Highly sought after guitar these days, as are the drums too. I believe one George Harrison favored Gretsch as well. Today it's main endorser, guitar virtuoso Brian Setzer. Merci!

  5. This is Brooklyn? Who wouldn't want to live there. Truly serene.

Nice shout out to George, Coltrane.

  6. tall gary -- the BBG also has a Japanese garden, very Zen and peaceful (I love it in the winter). Nice link.

coltrane -- by all means, think of baseball too! (my friend Diallo lives in the spot where Ebbets Field once stood). I should ask him if it's haunted.
btw, Tex, aka Gene Casey, can play up a storm on that Gretsch. My brother has about 4 drum sets, but I believe most are Ludwig -- the ones, just coincidentally, favored by Ringo Starr.

Rahul -- so you should come to NY!

from cali -- they're jumping the Manhattan ship and coming here in droves.
