Saddle up for Rush Hour

These people are headed into the south end
of Prospect Park, designed by the same fellow
(Frederic Law Olmsted) who designed Central Park in NYC.
Took this shot this afternoon. (I don't have a car, but my
wonderful West African friend, Diallo, does, thank goodness,
and I can call him whenever I need to get from here to there.)
I'm just saying -- we have it all in Brooklyn!

  1. Now there's a sight I wouldn't have expected to see in Brooklyn. Love the horses. Great timing with the camera, too.

  2. Coltrane -- it helps if you never go anywhere w/o that camera (and I was coming home from a wake -- not an occasion that normally calls for much photo-taking).
I'm learning from our esteemed Eric, the man in the gray [flannel? -- I doubt it] suit.

  3. Great slice-of-life photo. At first glance I thought they were nomadic bedouins on a typical traversal of Brooklyn. Brooklyn? Have to agree with Coltrane about them being unexpected. So cool to see them from your drive-by perspective.

Is Diallo driving a limo? There's that "YOU ARE ON CAMERA FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGER SAFETY" sticker in the window. I don't suppose his car doubles as a convenience store where security cameras are de rigueur.

  4. tall gary -- you're so observant. Diallo does drive for a car service (the Bklyn equivalent of hailing a cab), but I just call his cell phone -- which is definitely very "convenient."

  6. And here I thought girls riding their horses through town was exclusive to Willits! One of these days, I'll have to get a good angle on that as well. I'm surprised to see the traffic waiting so patiently. Horse vs. car is not pretty.
