surf's up!

This is a famous surfers' beach out in Montauk.
One of my brothers used to literally live on this beach
40 or 50 years ago, before there were so many people
out there and they had to tell them how to
behave on a surfboard!

  1. Hey, Alexa, "Don't be a wavehog!" I love it. GREAT sign. Thanks for that one. I could spend an entire class period discussing these rules. They are too much. Now, I don't really know surfing other than music about surfer dudes and surfer girls, but it sounds like fun. I'm from hockey country and that's as close as I come to shooting the waves. However, I was a certified scuba diver for a number of years in high school and college and loved life under the waves. No doubt, where you are is indeed a slice of heaven and you certainly deserve the rest. Have fun! Be safe! and please tell me those surfers aren't surfing and talking on their cell phones at the same time. Can't have that now. ;-)

  2. Thanks! I'm actually back now, but it was like a 2-week vacation in 2 days. Am going to get on the subway right now and go meet phx-cdg! That's right -- Lynn and I are meeting at City Hall and walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. Bet you're really envious now, huh?
Have a terrific Labor Day weekend! (Take lots of pics to make up for the ones you lost.)

  3. You go girls! I suppose you could take PHX-CDG to Lenny's Pizza...you know the one in Saturday Night Fever. You could walk there and hum to the Bee Gees. Just kidding! I'll say this...that PHX-CDG is a globe trekker for sure! Have fun!
