  4. Look! The sun is no longer descending closer to the horizon day by day. Let's celebrate. The sun is rising bit by bit, day by day. We won't be plunged into eternal darkness after all (except economically, sadly). Let's celebrate with lights on something everlasting like um, um, an evergreen tree!

    Yes! Bring on the fauns and pans and satyrs and the Christmas trees and lights. Whoopie!

    The pulchritudinous visage in some of the ornaments brings to mind "Parmigianino's Self Portrait in a Convex Mirror of 1523/24."

    Art history can lead us into art mysteries such as how some people can be so attractive reflected in convexities.
