It won't be too long

. . . I hope.  I'm getting pretty sick of this frigid

weather—a wind chill of -7°F (-22°C) when I woke
up on Friday—and am looking forward
to daffodils popping up and flowering trees
like this one coming into bloom.  (I took this shot
on March 17 a few years ago, but that was a

much milder winter than the one we're having; I'll
be curious to see when it blooms this year.)

  1. Yikes, you're a trooper, Alexa ~ I think I'd be in a cryogenic state by now. :) That's a gorgeous bloom and I hope you get to see them again sooner rather than later. Have a beautiful Sunday, ma chère. x0

  5. I think the cold makes us appreciate the blossoms even more! Lovely photo.

  7. My daughter's magnolia tree's buds are growing day by day....won't be long now. I'll post a photo. I love this one of yours. Magnolias were named for a 17th (or was it 18th...?) century French botanist, Magnol.

  8. I'm hearing that same complaint from my Uncle in northern Missouri. He's so ready for warmer weather. He's 81 and hasn't been out of the house in weeks due to the cold weather, snow and ice.
Stay warm and it will be warm all too soon
